Terms of use
Last updated 6 August 2026
These terms cover your use of emotionmedia.co.uk and the tools we publish. By using them you accept these terms.
Our tools
We publish tools that perform calculations and present information. Individual tools may carry their own additional terms, which are published on the tool and take precedence over these terms where they conflict.
Not professional advice
Our tools produce estimates and general information. They are not financial, tax, legal or employment advice, and must not be relied on as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your circumstances. Results depend on the information you enter and on assumptions that may not fit your situation.
Accuracy
We work from published rules and cite our sources, and we correct errors when we find them. Even so, rules change, sources contain mistakes, and so do we. We do not warrant that any result is accurate, current or complete. Check anything that matters before acting on it.
Availability
Tools are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may change, suspend or withdraw any tool at any time without notice.
Acceptable use
You may use our tools for your own purposes, personal or commercial. You must not:
- attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure;
- scrape or reproduce the site systematically to create a substitute for it;
- remove or obscure attribution, or present our output as your own product.
Intellectual property
The site, its design, text and code belong to EmotionMedia unless stated otherwise. The results a tool produces from the information you enter are yours to use.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, our tools — including lost profit, lost savings, or decisions taken on the basis of a result. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
